‘From Britain’s Farm Toys to Muck, Milk and Managing’
Will has been dreaming about becoming a dairy farmer ever since he was knee high playing with Britains Farm Toys. Originally from rural Cumbria but not from a farming family, Will’s enthusiasm and passion for dairy farming has amplified over the last two decades as he has risen through the ranks of the industry. In September 2021, Will’s dream finally came true when he and his wife Caroline started a joint venture with the Sillito Family near the village of Ashley in Staffordshire.
Will is going to discuss the ups and downs of his journey from relief milker through to dairy farmer and how he went about converting The Wellings Farm into an autumn block calving dairy herd milking 330 cows.
