The Roaming Dairy – our approach to dairy farming and where to next?
Oliver Chedgey, Owner of the Roaming Dairy
The Roaming Dairy was established by Oliver in 2018 through an innovative share farming approach, based at the Kingsclere Estate, Hampshire. The herd of 450 Friesian Jersey cross cows rotationally graze outdoors all year round and are milked once a day out in the field using a mobile parlour. Oliver is also a Nuffield Scholar and will talk to us about the challenges he faced becoming a dairy farmer, how he has overcome them, their farming system and his aspirations for the future.
