Dan Burdett – ‘Regenerative Agriculture: how to make the change happen’
Thursday 10th February at 7.45pm in the Lecture Theatre at Reaseheath College.

This month, Dan Burdett will be joining us all the way from West Sussex(!) to talk about his experience of regenerative agriculture. Dan is a third generation dairy farmer, having grown up on a family dairy farm in West Sussex. After school, Dan gained a degree in Business Studies and went on to have a career in sales and marketing in London, before making the leap back to agriculture and returning to the family farm in his early thirties.
Dan now runs a 480-cow autumn calving dairy herd across 2 units on an Arla contract. He has a particular interest in soil improvement and has seen first hand how the use of a diverse range of grass species, herbs and legumes in the grazing leys can lead to improved yields.
In 2019, Dan was awarded a Nuffield Scholarship, which focused on why farmers become involved with regenerative agriculture, the issues they face and how they overcome these issues. He will be talking to us about his experience of regenerative agriculture, the findings of his Nuffield Scholarship, and the people making regenerative agriculture happen.
