Speaker: CGS Chairman, Phil Jenkinson, and his wife Francesca will be speaking to us about their journey to where they are today.
Phil and Francesca met at Cheshire Young Farmers, where Phil was previously chairman. They went on to spend four years in a very successful share farming agreement milking 200 cows on a conventional all-year-round system near Macclesfield. Their next challenge was to move to a tenancy on a 170-acre Cheshire East Council farm in Ridley, near Tarporley, where they have been since 2017. Here they milk around 150 cows on an all-year-round, forage-based system. The cows milk an average of approximately 7,800L, of which around 3,500L are from forage. Outside the farm, Francesca is a midwife and the Jenkinsons are kept busy with three young children of their own!
Phil and Francesca will be talking to us about their journey to where they are today and their future farming plans, where they are always on the look out for the next opportunity!
