The speaker is Ian Norbury, whose farm the Society were due to visit for our Spring Farm Walk this year before it was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid.

‘Using data and technology to increase long-term resilience’

After taking a break from the family farm for a career in construction, Ian returned to farming to concentrate on making the business more resilient and reducing costs for the future. He currently runs 120 suckler cows, taking all followers through to finishing. He also rears around 20 pedigree breeding bulls each year. Ian was awarded the Silver Beef Innovator of the Year award at the British Farming Awards 2019. He will be talking about how he has used rotational grazing, data and technology to improve the efficiency and resilience of the business.
