Name of society: Fermanagh Grassland Club

Meetings and activities: Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of the month from October to March at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen. The society holds a spring study tour on the last Tuesday in April and a summer farm walk on the second Tuesday in August. They also hold an annual grazing competition with dairy and non-dairy classes, and a silage competition with baled and pit/clamp categories.

Ulster
Name of society: Ulster Grassland Society
Number of members: Around 500
Meetings and activities: The society holds three or four farm walks each year as well as an annual conference towards the end of January. They hold a spring farm walk, usually in early May, a summer farm walk in August and an autumn farm walk in October. The visits can be anywhere in Northern Ireland and the society try to vary the locations. The society holds a Grassland Farmer of the Year Competition, with the winner going forward to enter the BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year Competition.
