Winner’s Farm Walk – Treclyn Isaf Farm, Pembrokeshire

Aled and Owain Rees – Winners of the BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year 2022

On 24 May we had an informative visit to Treclyn Isaf Farm, Eglwyswrw, Crymych. The visit was hosted by Aled and Owain Rees who won the BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year title in 2022. Around 140 people attended the visit.

We started the tour off by hearing from Aled about the farm and the team of people who work together to ensure everything runs smoothly.  Owain then outlined the way in which technology is used on the farm. Moving around the farm on tractors and trailers we heard from Nigel Howells about how the grassland is managed on the farm, from Jon Williams about the importance of soil, and from Hefin Richards about cow nutrition. The tour of the farm was followed by a beef roll and the chance to chat.
